As part of the audiovisual material for Fairs and Presentations, Stat-Dx commissioned me to create a functional descriptive Video, where the different features of the DiagCore Analyzer are explained, and the work routine is developed, paying special attention to the interior fluidics. All this by means of sequences of animations rendered from the three-dimensional model.
The Video is a 100% functional product, with a finish halfway between realistic and infographic, a rhythm and structure oriented to Fairs and Exhibitions. Uplifting corporate music, no voiceovers, subtitles, and a very basic color code that can be quickly understood. A duration of 4 and a half minutes, and a text guide that helps to follow the routine.
Stat-Dx focuses on developing, manufacturing and marketing ‘Closer to Care’ diagnostic solutions in areas where fast and accurate diagnostic results are crucial such as infectious diseases and critical care.

The STAT-Dx project has been much broader than the Video. Although this has been the starting point, and surely the most complex, my collaboration has gone beyond, complementing the initial information.
For example, in relation to the Cartridge (input of the DiagCORE Analyzer) all kinds of Renders, Animations, 360s, etc., were created for use in Web and printed material.

The starting point of the project was a meeting with the client to establish what they wanted to convey. Which were those features of the DiagCore Analyzer that needed to be explained in depth, or which represented an innovation with respect to the previous model.
From this point on, a script is established, which will determine the sections of the Video. In general, the structure is similar to other videos. A superficial description, Modularity and Scalability. Detail of the consumable Cartridge that works with the Analyzer, and finally the detail of the Work Routine. In the specific case of DiagCore, we worked intensively on the fluidics.
Once these sections were defined, the best way to represent each one of them was studied in depth. Proposals are made and, together with the client, they are refined until they are validated.
Import of Product Geometries / a very important part of the Project is the import and cleaning of the different geometries contained in the Analyzer.
Product appearance / depending on the level of realism that the Client wants, the materials of each component are adjusted. In some cases, the necessary textures are created.
Scene definition / different environments are proposed for the course of the Video. Iterations in background colors, illuminations, etc.
Storyboard and Mockup animation / From the defined script, an initial basic animation is developed. Modifications are made until a consensus is reached on the way in which each of the Product Features are represented.
Final Rendering and Post-Production / Once all Previews have been validated, the final rendering is done in production quality. With this material, Postproduction is performed, applying all kinds of visual effects, to emphasize those elements that need it. Texts are added, and finally the Audio track.
With all the work done, small changes requested by the Client are applied.
The result, after many hours of work, a long post-production, and very few changes by Stat-Dx, is as follows.
Currently, STAT-Dx has been bought by Qiagen, and the video has been updated and modified. I do not have Qiagen’s permissions to show the current version, but it does not differ much from this one.
