Overview
As part of the audiovisual material for Fairs and Presentations, BioSystems commissioned me to create a functional Video, explaining the main new features of the BA200 in comparison to the BA400, by using sequences of animations rendered from the three-dimensional model.
The Video is a 100% functional product, with an infographic language, and a rhythm and structure oriented to Fairs and Exhibitions. Diaphanous music, subtitles, and a very basic color code of quick understanding. A duration of 4 minutes, and a text guide on the left side, which helps to follow the routine. Initially the Product is described by using a 360 turnaround, a list of the main advantages is presented, and later each of the 3 relevant characteristics is developed.
ByoSystems is a leading company in the distribution of systems, instruments and consumables for clinical diagnostics, the food industry and oenology.
As a customer, in the two projects I have worked on, they have been impeccable. Excellent human value. Few changes along the development, a very clear briefing at all times, and a constant illusion with the result.
The BA200 is a 200 t/h benchtop random access analyser for small/medium size laboratories with advanced technology requirements.
It integrates 88-place mixed sample/reagent rotor, LED light source technology with auto-adjustment of intensity, 8-stage wash station with overflow sensor, barcode reading (samples and reagents) and mixed mono-arm pipetting.
The compact design even allows separation of highly contaminated chemical/biological waste from common liquid waste.

workflow
Tlhe starting point of the project was a meeting with the client to establish what he wanted to communicate. What were the characteristics of the BA200 that needed to be explained in depth, or which represented innovation with respect to the previous model.
From this point, a script was established, which would determine the sections of the Video. Main Advantages, High Loading Capacity, Led Technology, Stable Throughput.
Once these sections have been defined, the best way to represent each one of them is examined in depth. Proposals are made, and together with the client, they are refined until they are validated.
Import of Product Geometries / a very important section of the Project, is the import and cleaning of the different geometries contained in the Analyzer.
Product appearance / depending on the level of realism the Customer wants, the materials of each component are adjusted. Depending on the case, the necessary textures are created.
Scene definition / different environments are proposed for the course of the Video. Iterations in background colors, illuminations, etc.
Raw Animation / From the defined script, an initial basic animation is developed. Modifications are made until a consensus is reached on how each of the Product Features are represented.
Final Rendering and Post-Production / Once all the Previews have been validated, the final rendering is done, in production quality. With this material, the Post-production is done, applying all kinds of visual effects, to emphasize those elements that need it. Texts are added, and finally the Audio track.
With all the work done, those small changes requested by the Client are applied.
End product
The result, after many hours of work, a long post production, and very few changes by BioSystems, is the following.
I am a graduate Product Designer, and I have been developing multimedia content, especially oriented to Products, for 15 years. A professional working method, together with a great capacity to adapt to changes, defines me as a designer.
